Five questions with Kristin...

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

It's not a single event that comes to mind, rather a sense of achievement for me comes from feeling uncomfortable or challenged and then navigating my way through. Moving overseas at different times for work and knowing little about the cities and just a handful of people was exciting, lonely and daunting all at the same time. Moving outside of my comfort zone and persisting through the difficulties ultimately led to some of my most rewarding experiences.

Parenthood is another big one that throws up a whole new set of challenges and achievements for me. As a working parent, one of those challenges has been striking a balance between work, family and friends. Whilst the balance can at times lean in various directions, I have learnt to embrace a more disciplined structure and routine whilst also accepting that sometimes life is just chaos and that too is okay.

Talk to me about…

Business for purpose. Having previously worked at two investment firms that  have a dual financial and social purpose,  I am excited to see the growing number of values-driven businesses in Australia and the potential this has for rising to some of our biggest challenges.

Growing the conversation about mental health and wellbeing - with mental wellness being just as important as the physical, it's essential that we proactively look after our own mental health and be there for those around us. Given how much time we spend at work, getting the company culture right plays a huge part in an individual's wellbeing. This is something I look forward to prioritising at Glow for our staff and the founders we work with.

If you could have three people at a dinner party, who would they be?

Oprah Winfrey - to bring a calming influence, ask the probing questions and share her experiences that have helped shape the woman she is today.

David Attenborough – an idol of my son!  His voice is  magical and he has brought so much awareness to the beauty of nature and just how fragile these ecosystems can be.

Daniel Ricciardo – If you have watched Netflix’s F1 Drive to Survive you will completely understand how fascinating this sport is and he is bound to bring some entertainment to the table.
